When you’re expecting twins or multiples, the joy of having more than one baby comes with unique challenges—especially during the newborn phase. As a professional maternity nurse, I offer expert, in-home care for families with twins or multiples, ensuring both babies are cared for while supporting the parents through this special time.

Whether you’re preparing for the arrival of your twins or managing the early weeks after birth, my goal is to provide calm, tailored care so that you can focus on bonding and adjusting to life with your new babies.

What Makes Caring for Twins Different?

Caring for twins or multiples requires more than just hands-on experience—it requires a level of organisation, patience, and adaptability. With two (or more) babies, each with their own needs, routines, and personalities, expert care becomes essential. I am experienced and qualified in providing a balanced, structured routine for your babies and practical support for you as parents.

How I Support Families with Twins & Multiples

1. Establishing a Routine for Both Babies

One of the biggest challenges with twins is ensuring both babies are on similar feeding, sleeping, and nappy-changing schedules. I create flexible yet tailored routines that ensure both babies are soothed, fed, and put to sleep at the same time—allowing for rest and consistency.

2. Feeding Support for Both Babies

I provide breastfeeding support, bottle-feeding, or a combination of both, depending on your family’s needs. With multiples, this often involves:

  • Simultaneous breastfeeding or bottle-feeding techniques

  • Maintaining appropriate feeding intervals for both babies

  • Bottle preparation and sterilisation

  • Choosing the right formula

3. Efficient Night Nannying / Nighttime Maternity Nurse

With two or more babies, parents need all the rest they can get. I offer overnight care, including:

  • Handling night-time feeds and nappy changes

  • Helping establish calming sleep routines for twins

  • Offering expert safe advice on infant sleep practices for multiples

  • Monitoring and recording babies health and routine throughout the night

4. Emotional and Practical Support

Having twins can be overwhelming at times. Beyond the practicalities of caring for two babies, I offer emotional support for parents, reassuring you through this exciting yet challenging time. I will be there to listen, guide, and provide parenting tips tailored to caring for twins.

5. Helping Parents Adjust

Many parents with twins or multiples find the adjustment challenging. As a trained maternity nurse with a UK government childcare and education qualification, continually keeping up to date with current legislation and guidelines, I’ll help you establish realistic expectations and ensure you feel supported, no matter how tough the early days can be. My job is to ensure you feel confident, empowered, and rested.

6. Daytime and Overnight Support

I provide 24-hour support or night-only care, whatever suits your family’s needs. My role is to work around your family’s routine and support the day-to-day care of your babies in a way that feels personal and reassuring.

My Experience with Twins

My first booking after qualifying was with a beautiful set of twins a brother and sister to another set of twins also non identical brother and sister, which marked the beginning of my dedicated work with multiples. I understand firsthand how overwhelming it can be, and I’m passionate about offering the best possible care.

Recently, my most recent booking also involved non identical twins, which shows how much my expertise in caring for multiples has grown. From my first experience to now, I’ve worked with a variety of families with twins, always providing expert, tailored care that eases the transition for both babies and parents.
